Job summary

BioLife Plasma Services, a Takeda subsidiary, seeks a Medical Support Specialist to support plasma center operations in Fond du Lac, WI. You will determine donor eligibility, review test results, and assist with adverse events under medical guidance to ensure safety and compliance.

You will work with Center management and Medical Affairs, participate in vaccination programs, and contribute to environmental, health and safety initiatives within a busy plasma center environment.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent with nursing program background.
• Current state license/certification as EMT-B/A/I/P, LPN/LVN, or RN.
• CPR and AED certification required.
• Must fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy.
• Complete FDA approved training for BioLife Medical Support Specialist.
• Two years of clinical or hospital experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Determine donor eligibility including consent, education, history and examination.
• Evaluate donor reactions and manage medical emergencies per SOPs.
• Consult Center Physician or Medical Affairs for medical or technical issues.
• Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for staff.
• Manage employee incidents with EHS guidance on when further evaluation is needed.
• Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS/Medical Affairs.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent to including graduate equivalent of a recognized educational nursing program

EMT-B/A/I/P License

LPN/LVN or RN license

CPR and AED certification

IV therapy certification

FDA BioLife training requirement

2 years clinical/hospital experience
