Job summary

BioLife Plasma Services in Wisconsin is seeking a Medical Support Specialist to support plasma center operations. You will determine donor eligibility, manage donor safety and reactions, review lab test results, and communicate results to donors under physician supervision.

You will contribute to vaccination programs, EHS initiatives, and center-level medical guidance, ensuring quality and compliance in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Licensed or certified in the responsible state: EMT-B, EMT-A, EMT-I, EMT-P, LPN/LVN, RN.
• CPR and AED certification required.
• Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy.
• Complete BioLife Medical Support Specialist FDA training requirements.
• Two years in a clinical or hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Determine donor eligibility including informed consent, medical history, physical exame and SPE review.
• Evaluate donor reactions per SOPs and arrange emergency transport as needed.
• Refer to Center Physician or Medical Affairs for unacceptable findings or guidance.
• Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees.
• Manage employee incidents per EHS guidance.
• Possibly serve as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS/Medical Affairs.
