Job summary

BioLife Plasma Services, a Takeda subsidiary, seeks a Medical Support Specialist to support plasma center operations. You will determine donor eligibility, manage donor safety, review test results, and coordinate with the Center Physician for medical issues.

The role requires clinical experience and state licensure}. In this role you will assist with environmental, health and safety programs, participate in vaccination initiatives, and may serve as Pandemic Coordinator as needed within the

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and graduate nursing program with state requirements.
• Licensed or certified EMT-B, EMT-A, EMT-I, EMT-P, LPN/LVN, or RN with CPR and AED.
• Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy.
• Complete FDA approved training for BioLife Medical Support Specialist.
• Two years in a clinical or hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Determine donor eligibility, discuss informed consent and self-exclusion, take medical history and perform examinations, review SPE and lab results.
• Evaluate donor reactions and manage emergencies per SOPs and Center Physician standing orders.
• Refer to Center Physician or Medical Affairs for medical or technical guidance and donor safety.
• Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees where applicable.
• Manage employee incidents and coordinate with occupational health/ER and EHS guidance.
• Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and assist investigations as needed.
