Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with nursing program qualification.
• Current EMT/paramedic or RN/LPN licensure in the responsible state.
• CPR and AED certification is required.
• Complete FDA training for BioLife Medical Support Specialist.
• Two years of clinical or hospital experience.

Responsibilities

• Determine donor eligibility including informed consent, AIDS education and self-exclusion, medical history interview and acceptance requirements, physical examination, blood testing, and SPE review.
• Evaluate donor reactions and manage medical emergencies per SOPs and Center Physician standing orders.
• Refer to Center Physician or Medical Affairs for unacceptable findings or medical/technical guidance.
• Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees.
• Manage employee incidents with EHS guidance and potentially act as Pandemic Coordinator when directed.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent with nursing program qualification

Current EMT-B/EMT-A/EMT-I/EMT-P, LPN/LVN or RN license/certification in responsible state

CPR and AED certification
