Job summary

BioLife Plasma Services, a Takeda company, seeks a Medical Support Specialist to support plasma center operations in Waite Park, MN. You will determine donor eligibility, review lab results, manage donor adverse events and assist under the guidance of the Center Manager and Center Physician.

You will also support vaccination programs, health and safety initiatives, and regulatory compliance in a fast-paced clinical setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent including graduate equivalent of a recognized nursing program with state requirements.
• Current EMT-B/EMT-A/EMT-I/EMT-P licenses and RN/LPN licensure as applicable.
• CPR and AED certification required.

Responsibilities

• Determine donor eligibility including informed consent, AIDS education, confidentiality, medical history interview and acceptance requirements.
• Evaluate donor reactions and manage medical emergencies per SOPs including center physician standing orders.
• Refer to Center Physician or Medical Affairs for guidance on medical/technical issues and donor safety.
• Support vaccination programs and occupational health as applicable.
