Job summary

The Christ Hospital Health Network in Cincinnati seeks an experienced medical secretary to support the medical director and coordinate patient care activities. You will manage daily scheduling, order labs and tests, and facilitate flow of information between physician, patient, and referring physicians.

Responsibilities include handling calls, transcribing and filing docs, arranging meetings, collecting co-pays, processing referrals, and supporting EMR users.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or certification preferred.
• 2 years medical office scheduling experience and 1 year scheduling experience required.
• Proficient in copier, fax, telephone systems, postage equipment and MS Office; strong organization.

Responsibilities

• Acts as medical secretary to medical director and schedules patient care activity.
• Manages daily patient and physician scheduling and coordinates labs and tests.
• Transcribes and files correspondence; coordinates meetings and takes minutes.
• Answers calls, schedules follow-ups, collects co-pays, and handles referrals.
• Maintains cash drawer, deposits, and prepares batches for processing; may train new staff.
• May act as Super User for EMR and ensure confidentiality.
