Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree preferred.
• 1–2 years of prior relevant medical office experience in clerical role.
• Excellent computer skills (Outlook, Excel, EMR, scheduling systems) required.
• Strong verbal and social skills to interact with patients, physicians, visitors, and staff; ability to travel to other offices as needed.
• BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Keeps patient flow organized during clinic hours and supports examination and treatment under physician direction.
• Documents review of systems, records vital signs, updates medical history and meds in the EMR.
• Prepares patient charts in EMR, scans and reviews external reports to ensure complete records for physician use.
• Refills medications and pre-authorizes as needed; communicates with patient, pharmacy, and insurance.
• Maintains clean exam rooms and handles patient check-ins/outs and pre-certifications as required.
• Responds to MyChart and manages calls, messages, and scheduling in the EMR/Practice Management system.
