Qualifications

• Education: high school diploma or equivalent; MA credential preferred.
• 2 to 5 years MA experience preferred; varied care settings recommended.
• Certified/Registered MA preferred; BLS certification required.
• Excellent computer and EMR proficiency required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in examination and treatment of patients under physician direction.
• Maintain patient flow and document review of systems; update medical history and medication lists.
• Prepare patient charts in EMR and ensure all test results and records are in the chart.
• Refill medications and pre-authorize medications; communicate with patient, pharmacy or insurer.
• Obtain medical information from patients to aid medical decision making per office protocol.
• Operate EKG, cardiac monitors, and other equipment; perform phlebotomy and cast removal as assigned.
• Maintain safe, confidential environment; adhere to legal responsibilities of MA role.
