Job summary

The US Oncology Network is seeking a Scheduler to join the Texas Oncology team in San Antonio, TX. This full-time role supports patient scheduling, patient communications, and coordination with medical staff.

Under supervision, you will manage appointment and test scheduling, collect co-pays, and help maintain efficient front office operations while protecting patient confidentiality and complying with company standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 0-3 years of medical office experience preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and coding is a plus.
• Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).

Responsibilities

• Answers all incoming calls and directs to appropriate personnel.
• Schedules new, referral and returning patients per physician guidelines.
• Obtains insurance authorization and medical referrals.
• Collects co-pays, deductibles and other balances at visit.
• Maintains scheduling templates for physician meetings and rounds.
• Arranges financial counseling for patients as needed.
• Protects patient confidentiality and follows front office procedures.
• Prepares correspondence, memos and forms as requested by supervisor.
• May schedule outpatient tests, surgeries and admissions as needed.
• Ensures pre-certifications are obtained and test prep is communicated.
