Job summary

US Oncology Network is seeking a Scheduler for our Texas Oncology site in San Antonio. This full-time role supports efficient appointment and test scheduling, handles calls, and liaises between patients and medical staff to ensure smooth clinic operations.

The Scheduler will manage new, referral, and returning patient schedules, obtain insurance authorizations, and assist with pre-certification and pre-operative planning as needed.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
• Knowledge of medical terminology and coding is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Answers all incoming calls; directs to appropriate personnel and pages clinic staff.
• Schedules new/referring/returning patients per physician guidelines; updates system with correct docs and codes.
• Obtains/enters insurance authorizations and referrals in EMR.
• Collects co-pays, deductibles and other out-of-pocket amounts at visit.
• Maintains scheduling templates for physician meetings, satellite schedule, and call coverage.
• Coordinates outpatient appointments/tests/surgeries and hospital admissions as requested.
