Job summary

The Christ Hospital Health Network is seeking an experienced front office clerk to manage daily patient and physician scheduling using our Practice Management system. You will order labs, diagnostic tests, and schedule visits, with a focus on patient satisfaction and efficient room utilization.

You will greet visitors, perform patient check-in/out, collect co-pays, and verify insurance coverage while handling confidential information per HIPAA guidelines.

Qualifications

• EDUCATION: High School Diploma or equivalent.
• YEARS OF EXPERIENCE: 1–3 years customer service; medical office scheduling preferred.
• REQUIRED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE: Copier, fax, telephone system, postage equipment, and computer skills (Outlook/Word/Excel); maintain confidentiality; HIPAA awareness.

Responsibilities

• Answers telephone and directs calls to staff; routes messages and documents.
• Manages physician's Outlook calendar and schedules patient appointments.
• Performs patient check-in/check-out and handles insurance information and paperwork.
• Receives payments including co-pays and balances; reconciles cash and deposits.
• Verifies referrals and pre-certifications; handles office duties and EMR queues.
• Maintains front office cleanliness and orders office supplies.
