Mercy Health in Boardman, OH is seeking a Medical Lab Scientist (MLS) for the Core Laboratory at St. Elizabeth Boardman Hospital. The role emphasizes performing routine tests on blood and body specimens, ensuring quality results, and prioritizing patient safety.

The MLS will follow comprehensive laboratory procedures, perform QC, and maintain a safe workspace while engaging with staff and physicians to deliver timely, accurate results.

Formación

• Bachelor of Science in Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Laboratory Science, Biomedical Science, Biology or Biochemistry through a CLIA-approved program (required)
• MLS certification or eligible by a recognized certifying agency (preferably ASCP) (required)
• Externship program completed (preferred)

Responsabilidades

• Performs analytical tests on biological specimens in a timely, accurate manner per procedures
• Determines acceptability of specimens by visual inspection or recognizing abnormal results
• Recognizes factors affecting measurements and takes appropriate action per protocols
• Performs quality control and ensures results meet established ranges
• Maintains a safe and efficient work environment; conducts equipment checks and keeps work area clean
