Job summary

Mercy Health is seeking a Medical Lab Scientist (MLS) for the St. Vincent Medical Center area. The role involves performing routine tests on blood and tissue samples, delivering accurate results, and ensuring patient safety.

The MLS will operate in a fast-paced laboratory, maintain QC, and support physicians with timely, reliable data. Externship completion is preferred, with MLS certification or eligibility required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Clinical Laboratory Science or related field.
• MLS certification or eligible by a recognized agency (ASCP preferred).
• Externship completed (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Performs analytical tests on biological specimens accurately and timely.
• Maintains quality control and ensures patient results are reliable.
• Inspects specimens for acceptability and adheres to safety protocols.
• Keeps work area clean, monitors equipment, and troubleshoots as needed.
• Performs additional duties as assigned.
