Bon Secours Mercy Health is hiring a Medical Lab Scientist (MLS) for the Core Laboratory at St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital. The role focuses on performing routine tests on blood and tissues, delivering quality results to physicians, and ensuring patient safety throughout all lab processes.

Required are a BS in Clinical Laboratory Science (or related field) and MLS certification or eligibility. Externship completed is preferred. Competitive benefits apply to eligible associates.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Clinical Laboratory Science or related field (CLIA approved program) is required.
• Ability to provide quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment.
• Engage professionally with staff and patients.

Responsibilities

• Performs analytical tests on biological specimens in a timely, accurate manner per procedures.
• Determines specimen acceptability via visual checks or result patterns.
• Recognizes and acts on factors affecting measurements per protocols.
• Performs quality control for all testing and ensures results meet ranges before release.
• Maintains safe, efficient lab operations and troubleshoots equipment as needed.
