Job summary

Mercy Health is seeking a Medical Lab Scientist (MLS) at Perrysburg Medical Center to perform routine tests on blood and other specimens, delivering high-quality results to physicians. The MLS will uphold patient safety and confidentiality while using a range of clinical laboratory equipment.

Required is a Bachelor of Science in a CLIA-approved program and MLS certification or eligibility (ASCP preferred). Externship completed is preferred; applicants should demonstrate accuracy,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a CLIA-approved clinical laboratory program.
• MLS certification or eligible (ASCP preferred).
• Externship program completed (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Performs routine analytical tests on blood, tissues and specimens accurately.
• Determines specimen acceptability via visual inspection and results review.
• Performs quality control to ensure results meet protocols before release.
• Maintains safe, efficient lab environment and handles equipment properly.
• Troubleshoots laboratory equipment and adheres to policies.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
