Job summary

Mercy Health in Lima, OH is seeking a Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) for the Core Laboratory at the Lima Medical Office Building. You will perform routine tests on blood and tissue samples, ensure patient safety, and deliver accurate results using a range of clinical laboratory equipment.

Requires BS in CLS/MLS or related field, CLIA-approved program, MLS certification or eligibility, and completion of an externship preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Clinical Laboratory Science or related field (required).
• MLS certification or eligible by a recognized agency (ASCP preferred).
• Externship completed (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Perform routine analytical tests on blood and tissues per procedures.
• Assess specimen acceptability via visual inspection and results review.
• Perform quality control and ensure results meet established ranges.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and compliant work environment and operate equipment.
