Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health is seeking a Laboratory Technician to perform complex chemical, biological, hematological, immunologic, microscopic, and bacteriological tests in a fast-paced clinical laboratory setting. You will prepare specimens, run automated instruments, and ensure accurate reporting of results to Pathologists and clinicians.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in MLS/Medical Technology or Biological Science.
• ASCP certification or eligibility required/preferred.
• Proficiency with computers, including web-based applications and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Prepares specimens for examination and performs complex tests.
• Documents start-up, QC, calibration and maintenance on instruments.
• Performs routine testing and evaluates test results.
• Enters results into LIS and reports critical results.
• Participates in continuing education and QA/QI projects.
• Assists in evaluating new methods and SOPs.
