Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science / Medical Technology or Biological Science required.
• ASCP certified generalist or categorical Technologist or equivalent accreditation or letter of Technologist eligibility required.
• Non-certified applicants must acquire certification within 12 months of hire or promotion.
• Experience with computers required, including web based applications and Microsoft applications.

Responsibilities

• Performs tests and confirms accuracy of results.
• Prepares specimens for examination and uses automated equipment.
• Performs startup, QC, calibration and maintenance on instruments.
• Evaluates test results and reports to providers per policy.
• Documents results in LIS and communicates critical results.
• Participates in continuing education and QA/QI projects.
• Assists in evaluating new methods and procedures under leadership.
