Job summary

Select Medical is seeking a part-time Patient Service Specialist - Float to join our outpatient physical therapy centers across Naperville and surrounding suburbs in IL. You will greet patients, register them, and handle scheduling and co-pays.

This role focuses on front desk operations, insurance verification, and coordination with care teams; hours include some evenings. Part-time staff may be eligible for 401k after 1,000 hours.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 1 Year of Medical Office Experience.
• 1 Year Front Desk experience (preferred).
• Healthcare experience (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Greet and register patients and provide visit information.
• Schedule patient appointments in person and by phone.
• Maintain communication with attorneys, insurers, translation services, and leadership.
• Collect co-pays, manage payer approvals, and perform insurance verifications.

Locations: Napervlle, Oakbrook Terrace, Burr Ridge, Oak Park, Oak Lawn, Elmhurst, La Grange and Elmwood Park, IL

Type of Employment:Part-time

Schedule:Monday- Friday (hours vary/some evenings)

Compensation:$19.00 - $21.00/hour (pending experience)

When patients enter our outpatient physical therapy centers in Souut West Suburbs, we want them to have an exceptional experience – starting at the front desk. That’s where you come in. As a patient service specialist, you’ll manage both the patient side and the business side of our center. Don’t underestimate the impact you can make on every patient’s care experience, even before they leave the waiting room.

Responsibilities

• Greet and register patients and provide information about what to expect during their visit and information about their next appointment as they check out
• Schedule patient appointments in person and via phone
• Regular communication with parties such as attorney offices, insurance companies and translation companies, market operational leaders, and business development team
• Collect co-pays from patients, manage payer approvals, and conduct insurance authorizations and verifications

Qualifications

Minimum:

• High School Diploma or GED
• 1 Year of Medical Office Experience

Preferred:

• 1 Year Front Desk experience
• Healthcare experience
