Job summary

Rush University Medical Center in Suwanee, GA is hiring a Part Time Patient Service Specialist for our outpatient physical therapy center. You’ll greet and register patients, schedule appointments, and coordinate with insurers while guiding them through their visit and next steps.

This role combines frontline patient care with essential administrative duties. Ideal candidates have a high school diploma, at least one year in front desk and medical office settings, and strong customer service

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• At least 1 year of front desk experience in a medical setting.
• At least 1 year of medical office experience.

Responsibilities

• Greet and register patients and inform them about visit expectations and next appointments.
• Schedule patient appointments in person and by phone.
• Communicate with attorneys, insurers, translation services, and internal teams.
• Collect co-pays, manage payer approvals, and perform insurance verifications.

Position: Patient Service Specialist

Type of Employment: Part Time

Schedule: Weekday - Varies

Compensation: Starting at $16/hr (pending experience)

When patients enter our outpatient physical therapy center in Suwanee, we want them to have an exceptional experience – starting at the front desk. That’s where you come in. As a patient service specialist, you’ll manage both the patient side and the business side of our center. Don’t underestimate the impact you can make on every patient’s care experience, even before they leave the waiting room.

Responsibilities

• Greet and register patients and provide information about what to expect during their visit and information about their next appointment as they check out
• Schedule patient appointments in person and via phone
• Regular communication with parties such as attorney offices, insurance companies and translation companies, market operational leaders, and business development team
• Collect co-pays from patients, manage payer approvals, and conduct insurance authorizations and verifications

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED
• 1 Year of Front Desk Experience
• 1 Year of Medical Office Experience
• Health Care Experience

Preferred Qualifications:

• Insurance Verification Experience
• 1 Year of Scheduling Experience
• Customer Service Experience
