Job summary

Select Medical operates outpatient physical therapy centers and is seeking a Patient Service Specialist to manage front desk and administrative tasks at our San Diego, CA site. You will greet patients, register them, and guide them through visits while coordinating with insurance and clinical staff.

In this full-time role, you will schedule appointments, handle co-pays, process authorizations, and verify insurance details to ensure smooth center operations and positive patient experiences.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1 year of Front Desk experience required.
• 1 year of Medical Office experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet and register patients and explain what to expect during visits and next steps.
• Schedule patient appointments in person and by phone.
• Maintain communication with attorneys, insurance companies, translation services, and internal teams.
• Collect co-pays, manage payer approvals, and perform insurance authorizations and verifications.

Type of Employment:Full-time

Schedule:Weekdays, Monday through Friday (Monday through Thursday 9am-6pm)

Compensation:$23.00 - $24.00/hour

Responsibilities

• Schedule patient appointments in person and via phone
• Regular communication with parties such as attorney offices, insurance companies and translation companies, market operational leaders, and business development team
• Collect co-pays from patients, manage payer approvals, and conduct insurance authorizations and verifications

Qualifications

Minimum:

• High School Diploma or GED
• 1 Year Front Desk experience
• 1 Year of Medical Office Experience

Preferred:

• Insurance Verification Experience
