Job summary

Select Medical is seeking a Patient Service Specialist at our West Allentown, PA outpatient physical therapy center. This per diem role focuses on front desk duties, patient intake, scheduling, and handling payments while supporting smooth operations for clinicians and patients.

You will greet patients, confirm next appointments, and help coordinate communications with insurers and related parties to ensure accurate verifications and authorizations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1 year front desk experience preferred.
• Healthcare experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet and register patients and provide information about what to expect during their visit and next appointment as they check out.
• Schedule patient appointments in person and via phone.
• Maintain communication with attorneys' offices, insurance companies and translation services, market ops leaders, and business development teams.
• Collect co-pays, manage payer approvals, and conduct insurance authorizations and verifications.

Position:Patient Service Specialist

Location: West Allentown, PA

Type of Employment:Per Diem

Schedule: Monday - Friday (hours vary) (2 evenings per week)

Compensation:$18.00 - $19.00/hour (pending experience)

When patients enter our outpatient physical therapy center in West Allentown, we want them to have an exceptional experience – starting at the front desk. That’s where you come in. As a patient service specialist, you’ll manage both the patient side and the business side of our center. Don’t underestimate the impact you can make on every patient’s care experience, even before they leave the waiting room.
