Qualifications

• Medical terminology knowledge required.
• Typing speed and accuracy helpful.
• Experience with scheduling and medical records systems preferred.
• Basic math and billing understanding beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Greet and assist patients warmly; verify demographics and referrals as needed.
• Verify insurance information and assist with financial counseling.
• Process co-pays and payments, balance cash drawer, and issue receipts.
• Communicate with team and patients, ensuring HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality.
• Schedule appointments and manage wait lists, callbacks, and reminders.
• Answer phones promptly and route calls to appropriate staff.
• Prepare and handle patient documents, releases, and referrals as required.
• Maintain waiting areas and assist with patient flow and comfort.
• Coordinate with providers and supervisors on scheduling and patient needs.
• Support HIM for chart requests and ensure proper documentation.
• Adapt to practice protocols and participate in cross-training when needed.
• Provide interpreter services if approved and translate when necessary.
