Qualifications

• Minimum education includes High School/GED and coding courses completed.
• Experience in hospital and/or physician coding required.
• Performs coding for major surgeries, observations and E/Ms.
• Maintains knowledge of ICD-10-CM/CPT guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Reviews medical information to assign ICD-10 CM/CPT codes.
• Abstracts data elements for statistical requests and enters data.
• Manages unbilled coding reports to support cash flow.
• Keeps informed of ICD-10 CM/CPT updates via training and clinics.
• Performs other duties as assigned or required.
