Job summary

ST. CHARLES HEALTH SYSTEM is seeking a Medical Assistant to manage daily patient flow, triage information, and support physicians across multiple specialties in Central Oregon. Responsibilities include patient preparation, data entry, and coordinating care to ensure efficient clinic operations.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, MA certification, and knowledge of ICD-10/CPT coding and HIPAA. Preferred candidates have MA program graduation and 2 years of MA experience.

Qualifications

• Must have high school diploma or GED.
• Preferred: graduate of accredited Medical Assistant program.
• Current MA certification from AMT/NCCT/AAMA/NAHP/NHA or Oregon licensure as EMT/LPN/RN/Athletic Trainer.
• Knowledge of ICD-10, CM/CPT/HCPCS coding conventions.
• HIPAA requirements and confidentiality standards.

Responsibilities

• Escort patients to exam rooms and prepare for physician assessment.
• Record and maintain patient data in medical chart.
• Assist physician with calls/requests from patients and other professionals.
• Perform ancillary and/or surgical procedures as requested (excluding IV meds).
• Maintain equipment and supply inventory.
• Support organizational vision, Lean principles and a safe environment.
• Deliver timely, accurate patient care with professionalism and confidentiality.
• May perform additional duties of similar complexity.
