Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma or GED.
• Preferred: Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program.
• Must have basic ICD-10, CM/CPT/HCPCS coding knowledge.
• Working knowledge of medical practice management information systems.
• Must maintain confidentiality and meet HIPAA requirements.

Responsibilities

• Escorts patients to exam rooms and prepares for physician assessment.
• Records and maintains patient's medical data in the chart.
• Assists physician with phone requests from patients and other professionals.
• Perform physician-requested ancillary and/or surgical procedures (excluding IV meds).
• Maintains equipment and supply inventory levels.
• Supports Lean principles and organization values.
• Delivers safe environment for caregivers, patients, and guests.
• Complies with laws, regulations, policies, and confidentiality expectations.
