Job summary

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, and completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program is preferred. Qualifications

• Must have basic knowledge of ICD-10, CM/CPT/HCPCS coding conventions and procedures.
• Working knowledge of medical practice management information systems.
• Basic knowledge of physician office documentation standards.
• Must be able to maintain confidentiality and meet all HIPAA requirements.

Responsibilities

• Escorts patients to exam rooms and prepares for physician assessment.
• Records and maintains patient medical data in the medical chart.
• Assists physician with phone requests from patients and other medical professionals.
• Performs physician-requested ancillary and/or surgical patient procedures (excludes IV medications).
• Maintains equipment and inventory levels.
• Supports Lean principles and organization values.
• Provides a safe environment for staff, patients, and guests.
• Ensures compliance with laws, policies and procedures and reports violations.
• Delivers customer service and patient care in a timely and accurate manner.
• May perform additional duties of similar complexity as required.
