Job summary

St. Charles Health System in Redmond, Oregon is seeking a Medical Assistant to support daily patient flow for the assigned physician.

The role uses triage skills to gather information that informs health assessments and anticipates physician needs. Responsibilities include escorting patients to exam rooms, recording and maintaining medical data, assisting with calls from patients and providers, and supporting physician-requested procedures (excluding IV medications).

Qualifications

• Must have basic knowledge of ICD-10, CM/CPT/HCPCS coding conventions and procedures.
• Working knowledge of medical practice management information systems.
• Basic knowledge of physician office documentation standards.
• HIPAA/compliance knowledge and confidentiality obligations.

Responsibilities

• Escorts patients to exam rooms and prepares for physician assessment.
• Records and maintains patient's medical data in patient's medical chart.
• Assists physician with answering phone requests from patients and/or other medical professionals and institutions.
• Performs physician-requested ancillary and/or surgical patient procedures (excluding IV medications).
• Maintains equipment and supply inventory levels.
• Delivers patient care with highest standards of professionalism and confidentiality, adhering to laws and policies.
