Job summary

Oak Street Health is seeking a Medical Assistant to support patient care across our centers. The MA will gather medical information, perform screenings, assist with diagnostics, and collaborate with care teams to deliver an exceptional patient experience.

Responsibilities include ensuring efficient patient flow, assisting with vaccinations and point-of-care testing, EMR documentation, and coordinating with providers. A valid MA certification and CPR/BLS and US work authorization are required.

Qualifications

• State or national MA certification or graduation from an accredited MA program.
• 1 year experience as a medical assistant.
• CPR or BLS certification.
• Electronic Medical Record experience.
• Computer skills: Gmail, Word/Docs, Excel/Sheets.
• Non-English language proficiency as required by demographics.
• US work authorization.

Responsibilities

• Ensure efficient patient flow; room patients, take vital signs, record screenings and med reviews.
• Inventory supplies and stock exam rooms.
• Provide telephonic support for patient requests (lab results, records)
• Administer vaccinations and point-of-care tests as allowed by state regulations
• Import documents into EMR via scanning or PDF upload
• Participate in care team meetings to discuss patient care and clinic operations
• Process orders for durable medical equipment
• Request medical records from external providers
• Conduct routine quality control checks and infection control measures
• Perform other duties as assigned
