Job summary

Oak Street Health is seeking a Medical Assistant to gather medical histories, perform screenings, and support providers with accurate information for clinical decisions. You will work closely with the care team to ensure an excellent patient experience and efficient clinic operations.

The role requires state or national MA certification or completion of an accredited MA program, 1 year of MA experience, CPR/BLS, EMR proficiency, and solid computer skills. US work authorization is required.

Qualifications

• State or national certification (as required by state), or graduation from an accredited medical assistant course.
• 1 year experience as a medical assistant.
• CPR or BLS Certification.
• Electronic Medical Record experience.
• Computer skills: navigate Gmail, MS Word/Google Docs, Excel/Google Sheets.
• Proficiency in non-English languages as required by the center's demographics.
• US work authorization.

Responsibilities

• Ensure an efficient patient flow; room patients in a timely manner, record vital signs, screenings and medication reviews.
• Inventory supplies and stock exam rooms.
• Respond to patient requests for telephonic support (lab results, records requests, etc).
• May administer vaccinations and point-of-care testing per state regulations.
• Import required documents into EMR via scanning or PDF upload.
• Participate in care team meetings to discuss patient care and clinic operations.
• Process orders for durable medical equipment and request records from providers.
• Support infection control measures and maintain center lab as needed.
