Job summary

Oak Street Health is seeking a Medical Assistant to gather essential medical information and support providers in delivering high-quality care. The MA will help manage patient flow, perform screenings, and maintain accurate EMR records to inform clinical decisions.

Responsibilities include vaccinations when allowed by state regulations, coordinating with care teams, and handling routine lab-related tasks. Strong communication and problem-solving skills are essential for success.

Qualifications

• State or national certification (as required by state), or graduation from an accredited medical assistant course.
• 1 year experience as a medical assistant.
• CPR or BLS Certification.
• Electronic Medical Record experience.
• Computer skills: Gmail, MS Word or Google Docs, Excel or Google Sheets.
• US work authorization.

Responsibilities

• Ensure an efficient patient flow; room patients in a timely manner, complete vital signs, screenings and medication reviews.
• Inventory supplies and stock exam rooms.
• Respond to patient requests for telephonic support (lab results, records requests, etc.).
• Administer vaccinations and point-of-care tests as allowed by state regulations.
• Import required documents into EMR via scanning or PDF upload.
• Participate in care team meetings to discuss patient care and clinic operations.
