Job summary

Oak Street Health is seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant to gather patient information, support care teams, and assist with screenings and routine diagnostics. You will build relationships with members and collaborate closely to ensure an unmatched patient experience while driving clinical results.

Responsibilities include vital signs, screenings, vaccinations (as allowed), EMR documentation, and coordination with providers.

Qualifications

• State or national certification (as required by state), or graduation from an accredited medical assistant program.
• At least 1 year of experience as a medical assistant.
• CPR or BLS certification.
• Electronic Medical Record experience.
• Computer skills: Gmail, MS Word/Google Docs, Excel/Google Sheets.
• Proficiency in non-English languages as required by the center's demographics.
• US work authorization.

Responsibilities

• Ensure an efficient patient flow; room patients, take vitals, complete screenings and medication reviews.
• Inventory supplies and stock exam rooms.
• Respond to patient requests for telephonic support (lab results, records to specialists).
• Administer vaccinations and point-of-care tests as allowed by state regulations.
• Import documents into the EMR via scanning or PDF upload.
• Participate in care team meetings to discuss patient care and clinic operations.
• Process orders for durable medical equipment.
• Request medical records from external providers as required by the provider.
• Conduct routine quality checks including infection control and center lab maintenance.
