Job summary

Highmark Health in Pittsburgh is seeking a Medical Assistant to help coordinate patient care under the supervision of a healthcare provider. You will prepare patients, record vital signs, and update medical histories within the electronic health record following standardized workflows.

Responsibilities include assisting with examinations and procedures, administering medications per policy, and supporting front-office tasks as needed. A valid Medical Assistant certification and CPR are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum High School / GED or completion of a Medical Assistant Program.
• Certification required: Medical Assistant from NHA, AAMA, AMT, NCCT or AMCA.
• CPR certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate patient care under supervision of the health care provider.
• Prepare and room patients within the clinical setting using standardized workflows.
• Accurately obtain vital signs and document patient information.
• Review and update medications and patient history in the EHR.
• Assist with back office testing and procedures per AHN protocols.
• Document accurately in the EHR and communicate test results.
