Job summary

Allegheny Health Network, part of Highmark Health, is seeking a Medical Assistant to support patient care within a team-based clinical setting. You will coordinate care, room patients, take vital signs, and assist with screenings and procedures.

The role requires completing a Medical Assistant program or equivalent, with certification within 120 days if not already certified; CPR certification and background checks are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum High School / GED or completion of a Medical Assistant Program.
• Certification within 120 days of hire if not certified; accepts NHA, AAMA, AMT, NCCT, AMCA.
• Preferred Associate’s Degree.
• CPR – American Heart Association; background checks required.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate patient care under supervision of the health care provider.
• Prepare and room patients per standardized workflows.
• Record patient vital signs and document information in the EHR.
• Assist with depression screening tools and wellness visit screenings.
• Review and update medication lists and social history in the EHR.
• Prepare exam rooms and ensure inventory of supplies.
