Job summary

St. Charles Health System in Sisters, Oregon, seeks a Medical Assistant to manage daily patient flow for assigned physicians, perform triage, and support clinical operations.

Requires a high school diploma or GED; graduated MA program preferred. Current MA Certification from AMT/NCCT/AAMA/NAHP/NHA or Oregon licensure as EMT/LPN/RN/AT; BLS. Knowledge of ICD-10, HIPAA, and EMR systems; travel may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred.
• Current MA certification from AMT/NCCT/AAMA/NAHP/NHA or Oregon licensure as EMT/LPN/RN/AT is required or preferred.
• BLS for Healthcare Providers certification.
• Knowledge of ICD-10 and medical coding conventions.
• Working knowledge of medical practice management systems and EMR.

Responsibilities

• Escort patients to exam rooms and prepare for physician assessment.
• Record and maintain patient medical data in the chart.
• Assist physician with phone requests from patients and other professionals.
• Perform physician-requested ancillary and/or surgical procedures (excluding IV medications).
• Maintain equipment and supply inventories.
• Uphold safety, confidentiality, and HIPAA requirements.
• Travel to various worksites as needed.
