Job summary

Mass General Brigham is seeking a patient-facing role to assist healthcare teams with both clinical and non-clinical tasks. You will take vital signs, document information, schedule appointments, and help manage patient flow, collaborating with physicians and nursing staff to ensure smooth care delivery.

The position emphasizes direct patient interaction and a strong emphasis on accuracy, privacy compliance, and proficient use of EHR systems.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required; no substitution.
• Direct MA experience or medical field work 0-1 year preferred.
• BLS, CMA and EMT certifications preferred; Massachusetts EMT preferred.

Responsibilities

• Interview patients to obtain medical information and measure vital signs, weight and height.
• Show patients to examination rooms and prepare equipment for providers.
• Record medical history and vital statistics in medical records.
• Perform general office duties such as telephones, dictation, and insurance forms.
• Act as liaison with departments and advocate for patients with good customer service.
• Collect blood, tissue or other specimens and prepare for testing.
• Prepare treatment rooms, keep areas clean and stocked.
• Sterilize instruments and dispose of contaminated supplies.
