Job summary

The Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Inc. is seeking an onsite clinical support assistant to assist healthcare teams with patient services, including taking vital signs, recording information, and coordinating with physicians and nursing staff.

The role involves direct patient interaction, appointment scheduling, and helping maintain smooth patient flow, under clinician direction. This is a 32-hour/week daytime position with competitive benefits within Mass General Brigham.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• BLS certificate preferred; CMA and EMT-B preferred.
• Direct MA experience or medical field work 0-1 year preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, procedures, and protocols.

Responsibilities

• Interview patients to obtain medical information and measure vital signs, weight, and height.
• Show patients to examination rooms and prepare necessary equipment for healthcare providers.
• Record patients' medical history, vital statistics, or information such as test results in medical records.
• Perform general office duties, such as answering telephones, taking dictation, or completing insurance forms.
• Collect blood, tissue, or other laboratory specimens and prepare them for testing.
• Prepare treatment rooms for patient examinations and maintain supplies.
• Clean and sterilize instruments and dispose of contaminated supplies.
