Job summary

Mass General Brigham is seeking a patient-facing Medical Assistant to support healthcare teams with clinical and non-clinical duties. You will take vital signs, document patient information, schedule appointments, and help manage patient flow under the direction of providers.

Based at our onsite site in Boston area, this role requires strong communication and teamwork, with proficiency in EHR systems and medical office software to ensure efficient, compassionate care and accurate record-keeping.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent required; Associate’s Degree in Medical Assisting preferred.
• Experience in direct patient care or medical field work is preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to prioritize tasks.
• Proficiency with EHR systems and medical office software.

Responsibilities

• Interview patients to obtain medical information and measure vital signs, weight, and height.
• Show patients to examination rooms and prepare equipment for healthcare providers.
• Record patients' medical history and test results in medical records.
• Perform general office duties and act as liaison with other departments with a patient-focused service approach.
• Collect blood, tissue, or other specimens and prepare them for testing.
• Prepare treatment rooms, maintain cleanliness, and stock supplies.
• Sterilize instruments and dispose of contaminated materials.
