Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Medical Assistant to join our clinical team. You will support patient visits with rooming, vital signs, history-taking, and screenings, while assisting providers with procedures and coordinating lab duties.

You will administer medications and vaccines, manage refills and referrals, and help maintain a clean, compliant, and stocked workspace. The role emphasizes teamwork, timely communication, and adherence to department procedures, across age-appropriate patient care

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
• Two years of experience as a Medical Assistant in a clinical setting.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to Medical Assistant scope of practice and follows policies.
• Performs rooming tasks: vitals, history, screenings.
• Assist provider with procedures as ordered.
• Lab duties: venipuncture, specimen handling, POCT, CLIA-waived tests.
• Administers medications and vaccines.
• Handle refills, authorizations, scheduling, referrals.
• Maintain clean, stocked work area and equipment.
• Possible training/onboarding of teammates.
• Support care across age groups per department standards.
