Job summary

Advocate Health seeks a Medical Assistant to support patient care across multiple divisions. The role includes rooming patients, taking vitals, history, screenings and medication reconciliation, and assisting providers with procedures and labs.

Qualifications

Must have completed an accredited Medical Assistant program or applicable military clinical training in lieu of a formal MA program.

Proficient knowledge of patient care procedures and medical terminology.

Responsibilities

Adheres to Medical Assistant scope of practice and follows policies and procedures.
Performs rooming tasks: vital signs, history, screenings, medications reconciliation.
Assists providers with procedures and lab duties including venipuncture and specimen handling.
Maintains CLIA-waived tests and adheres to CLIA standards.
Administers medications and vaccines following safety rights.
Maintains clean, stocked work areas and proper equipment function.
Communicates effectively with team and escalates issues as needed.
