Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Medical Assistant to support patient flow with vital signs, history taking, screenings, and medication reconciliation. This role assists the provider with procedures and conducts routine lab tasks including venipuncture and POCT, while ensuring accurate documentation and adherence to CLIA and safety standards.

The MA will administer vaccines as ordered, manage referrals and scheduling, and maintain a clean, organized work area.

Qualifications

• Proficient computer skills including EMR navigation and basic keyboarding.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to MA scope of practice and follows policies.
• Performs vital signs, history taking, screenings, and medication reconciliation.
• Assists provider with procedures and lab duties including venipuncture and POCT.
• administers medications and vaccines per rights of administration.
• Handles referrals, scheduling, authorizations, and patient messaging.
• Maintains clean, stocked work environment and escalates as needed.
• Demonstrates age-appropriate patient care and coordination with team.
