Job summary

Atrius Health, part of the Optum family, is seeking a Medical Assistant to support clinicians in routine procedures and tests in the exam room. You will prepare patients, collect vitals, and ensure lab results are available in the EMR, while providing direct clinical support to assigned clinicians.

Responsibilities include patient flow management, rooming, reviewing demographics, updating medications, and assisting with waived point-of-care testing.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalency plus Medical Assistant Certification
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire
• Experience with EMR systems and clinical support procedures

Responsibilities

• Provides efficient flow of patients to optimize appointment availability
• Greets and escorts patients to exam rooms according to policy
• Prepare patient for examination; measures vital signs
• Assist clinicians with routine clinical procedures and pre-visit testing
• Ensure EMR is updated with medical information and demographics
• Orders and performs waived point-of-care testing (e.g., strep, urine, hCG, glucose)
