Job summary

Atrius Health in Massachusetts is seeking a Medical Assistant to support clinicians with routine procedures and tests, preparing patients for exams and updating the EMR. You will also provide direct clinical support to assigned clinicians.

Responsibilities include ensuring smooth patient flow, taking vitals, assisting with tests, and maintaining accurate records. A HS diploma or MA certification is required; BLS preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalency certificate from an accredited institution or governmental unit or a Medical Assistant Certification.
• Computer experience.

Responsibilities

• Provides efficient flow of patients to optimize patient appointment availability.
• Greets and escorts patients to exam rooms according to policy and procedures.
• Prepare patient for examination; measures vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse rate, weight, and height.
• Assist clinicians with routine clinical procedures and/or additional tests specific to the department.
• Ensures EMR is updated with medical information and demographics.
• Keeps patients informed of visit status and delays.
• Reconcile medications and set up pending refills; discontinue inactive prescriptions.
• Assist in resolving minor patients' concerns and complaints.
• Orders and performs point of care testing (waived testing).
