Job summary

Atrius Health in eastern Massachusetts is seeking a Medical Assistant to support clinicians in exam rooms and help ensure smooth patient flow across 28 practice locations. You will prepare patients, take vital signs, and assist with routine procedures, with EMR documentation updated for accuracy.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalency certificate or Medical Assistant Certification.
• Computer experience required.
• EMR experience or aptitude to master the EMR.

Responsibilities

• Provide efficient flow of patients to optimize appointment availability.
• Greet and escort patients to exam rooms according to policy and procedures.
• Prepare patients for examination; measure vital signs (BP, pulse, weight, height).
• Assist clinicians with routine procedures and tests; advise on pre-visit testing.
• Update EMR with medical information and demographics; ensure data accuracy.
• Keep patients informed of visit status and delays.
• Reconcile medications and set up pending refills; discontinue inactive prescriptions.
• Assist with patient concerns and inquiries as appropriate.
• Order and perform point-of-care testing (waived tests).
