Job summary

Atrius Health, part of the Optum family, seeks a Medical Assistant MA to support clinicians with routine procedures in the exam room across our eastern Massachusetts practices.

You will perform vital signs, prep patients, document in EMR, and ensure pre-visit work is complete; must have High School diploma or equivalent and BLS, EMR experience; pay is hourly and ranges with experience.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalency certificate from an accredited institution or governmental unit or a Medical Assistant Certification.
• Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire.
• Computer experience with the ability to use word processing and spreadsheet programs; EMR experience and/or aptitude to master the EMR.
• Knowledge of reagent stability and storage; understands testing procedures and factors influencing results.

Responsibilities

• Provides efficient flow of patients to optimize appointment availability.
• Greets and escorts patients to exam rooms according to policy and procedures.
• Prepare patient for examination; measures vital signs (blood pressure, pulse, weight, height).
• Assist clinicians with routine clinical procedures and/or tests; advise on pre-visit testing for the department.
• Ensure EMR is updated with medical information including results and demographics.
