Job summary

Access Community Health Network (ACCESS) is seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant to support a multidisciplinary care team in delivering high-quality community health services in the Chicago area.

You will take vital signs, assist with onsite procedures, and help patients with scheduling and medical records while maintaining a patient-centered approach and using Epic EMR for documentation. Bilingual English/Spanish is preferred and on-site availability is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Medical Assistant diploma from an accredited program.
• CPR/Basic Life Support certification.
• Minimum of one year experience or clinical externship.
• Basic proficiency with EMR (Epic preferred).
• Ability to work some evenings and Saturdays.
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with a care team to provide health services and resources to patients.
• Assist providers with onsite procedures.
• Take vital signs, perform phlebotomy, and administer medications/vaccines as directed.
• Assist patients by responding to questions, returning calls, scheduling appointments, and reviewing medical records.
• Grow knowledge through clinical and Epic EMR training.

Position Summary

• Work in collaboration with a skilled care team that includes dedicated providers, benefits specialists, front desk receptionists, behavioral health consultants and others to provide quality health services and resources to meet our patients' needs.
• Assist providers with onsite procedures.
• Take vital signs, perform phlebotomy and administer medications/vaccines directly to patients.
• Assist patients by responding to questions, returning calls, scheduling appointments and reviewing medical records.
• Continue to grow your knowledge base through extensive clinical training and technical training with Epic, one of the leading Electronic Medical Record Systems globally.

Requirements

• HighSchool diploma or equivalent
• Medical Assistant diploma from an accreditedprogram
• CPR/Basic Life Support Certification
• Minimum of one (1) year experience or clinical externship
• Basic proficiency withEMR (Epic preferred)

The pay ranges provided represent the minimum to mid-range for positions. Actual compensation will be determined based on a combination of factors including years of experience, educational background, market conditions, and available grant funding.
