Job summary

Access Community Health Network is seeking a Medical Assistant to join our mission-driven care team in Chicago. You will support providers, perform phlebotomy, take vital signs, and administer vaccines while assisting patients with questions and scheduling.

You will learn Epic and expand clinical skills through on-the-job and formal training. The position requires a Medical Assistant diploma, CPR/BLS, and at least one year of experience or a clinical externship.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one (1) year experience or clinical externship.
• CPR/Basic Life Support Certification required.
• HighSchool diploma or equivalent; Medical Assistant diploma required.

Responsibilities

• Work with care team to provide health services and resources to meet patient needs.
• Assist providers with onsite procedures.
• Take vital signs, perform phlebotomy and administer vaccines.
• Assist patients by answering questions, scheduling appointments, and reviewing records.
• Grow knowledge through clinical and Epic training.

Position Summary

• Work in collaboration with a skilled care team that includes dedicated providers, benefits specialists, front desk receptionists, behavioral health consultants and others to provide quality health services and resources to meet our patients’ needs.
• Assist providers with onsite procedures.
• Take vital signs, perform phlebotomy and administer medications/vaccines directly to patients.
• Assist patients by responding to questions, returning calls, scheduling appointments and reviewing medical records.
• Continue to grow your knowledge base through extensive clinical training and technical training with Epic, one of the leading Electronic Medical Record Systems globally.

Requirements

• HighSchool diploma or equivalent
• Medical Assistant diploma from an accreditedprogram
• CPR/Basic Life Support Certification
• Minimum of one (1) year experience or clinical externship
• Basic proficiency withEMR (Epic preferred)
• Ability to work some evenings and Saturdays
• Bilingual English/Spanish a plus

The pay ranges provided represent the minimum to mid-range for positions. Actual compensation will be determined based on a combination of factors including years of experience, educational background, market conditions, and available grant funding.
