Job summary

Access Community Health Network in Chicago seeks a Medical Assistant to join a collaborative care team and support providers with on-site procedures and patient navigation. You will take vital signs, perform phlebotomy and vaccinations, respond to patient questions, schedule appointments, and review medical records, with ongoing Epic EMR training to grow clinical skills.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Medical Assistant diploma from an accredited program.
• CPR/BLS certification required.
• Minimum of one year clinical experience or externship.
• Basic proficiency with EMR systems (Epic preferred).
• Bilingual English/Spanish.
• Ability to work some evenings and Saturdays.

Responsibilities

• Work in collaboration with a skilled care team to provide quality health services and resources to meet patients’ needs.

Position Summary

• Assist providers with onsite procedures.
• Take vital signs, perform phlebotomy and administer medications/vaccines directly to patients.
• Assist patients by responding to questions, returning calls, scheduling appointments and reviewing medical records.
• Continue to grow your knowledge base through extensive clinical training and technical training with Epic, one of the leading Electronic Medical Record Systems globally.

Requirements

• HighSchool diploma or equivalent
• Medical Assistant diploma from an accreditedprogram
• CPR/Basic Life Support Certification
• Minimum of one (1) year experience or clinical externship
• Basic proficiency withEMR (Epic preferred)
• Ability to work some evenings and Saturdays

The pay ranges provided represent the minimum to mid-range for positions. Actual compensation will be determined based on a combination of factors including years of experience, educational background, market conditions, and available grant funding.
