Job summary

Access Community Health Network (ACCESS) is seeking a Medical Assistant to join a mission-driven team dedicated to community health. The role includes taking vital signs, phlebotomy, and administering vaccines, while assisting providers with onsite procedures.

Qualifications include a Medical Assistant diploma, CPR/BLS, and at least one year of experience or externship, with proficiency in EMR (Epic preferred). Evening and Saturday shifts may be required; bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Medical Assistant diploma from an accredited program.
  • CPR/Basic Life Support Certification.
  • Minimum of one year experience or clinical externship.
  • Basic proficiency with EMR (Epic preferred).
  • Ability to work some evenings and Saturdays.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish.

Responsibilities

  • Work in collaboration with a skilled care team that includes dedicated providers, benefits specialists, front desk receptionists, behavioral health consultants and others to provide quality health services and resources to meet our patients’ needs.
  • Assist providers with onsite procedures.
  • Take vital signs, perform phlebotomy and administer medications/vaccines directly to patients.
  • Assist patients by responding to questions, returning calls, scheduling appointments and reviewing medical records.
  • Continue to grow your knowledge base through extensive clinical training and technical training with Epic, one of the leading Electronic Medical Record Systems globally.

ACCESS is a Network of Federally Qualified Health Centers treating patients on the frontlines of community-based health care. Depending on position applied/being recruited for, candidates may be required to be vaccinated against communicable diseases and provide supporting documentation proving that they are properly vaccinated, or apply for religious and/or medical vaccination exemption as a part of the application process.

The pay ranges provided represent the minimum to mid-range for positions. Actual compensation will be determined based on a combination of factors including years of experience, educational background, market conditions, and available grant funding.
