Job summary

Access Community Health Network (ACCESS) is seeking a Medical Assistant to join our team on-site in Chicago. You will support a multi-disciplinary care team, take vital signs, assist with procedures, and provide patient education and scheduling assistance.

The ideal candidate has a medical assisting credential, CPR certification, and experience or externship in a clinical setting. Bilingual English/Spanish is required or highly preferred.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Assist providers with onsite procedures.
• Take vital signs, phlebotomy, and administer medications/vaccines.

Position Summary

• Work in collaboration with a skilled care team that includes dedicated providers, benefits specialists, front desk receptionists, behavioral health consultants and others to provide quality health services and resources to meet our patients’ needs.
• Assist providers with onsite procedures.
• Take vital signs, perform phlebotomy and administer medications/vaccines directly to patients.
• Assist patients by responding to questions, returning calls, scheduling appointments and reviewing medical records.
• Continue to grow your knowledge base through extensive clinical training and technical training with Epic, one of the leading Electronic Medical Record Systems globally.

Requirements

• HighSchool diploma or equivalent
• Medical Assistant diploma from an accreditedprogram
• CPR/Basic Life Support Certification
• Minimum of one (1) year experience or clinical externship
• Basic proficiency withEMR (Epic preferred)
• Ability to work some evenings and Saturdays
• Bilingual English/Spanish

ACCESS is a Network of Federally Qualified Health Centers treating patients on the frontlines of community-based health care. The pay ranges provided represent the minimum to mid-range for positions. Actual compensation will be determined based on a combination of factors including years of experience, educational background, market conditions, and available grant funding.
